SUMMARY:AIW VIC Waterproofing Above and Below – The Complete System - 25 June 2026
DESCRIPTION:Waterproofing only works when the whole system is right. \nWaterproofing education needs to look at systems holistically instead of in segments because one section impacts the whole. In this seminar\, member company\, PASCO Construction Solutions teaches how to look at waterproofing as a complete system. This technical seminar covers know-how for below the slab and above it and includes live demonstrations to provide a working understanding. \nBelow ground — Aquaproof Dual (Josh Collins) \nAquaproof Dual is a composite sheet membrane combining virgin HDPE and high-quality Wyoming Bentonite clay\, backed with non-woven polypropylene. It’s engineered for under-slab and blindside applications. Josh will walk through what makes Aquaproof Dual different and demonstrate the system hands-on\, including detailing\, penetrations\, and terminations. \nAbove ground – Aquaproof SLM (Josh Collins) \nAquaproof SLM is a high-solids\, moisture-cure silicone roof restoration membrane. Used to re-cover rather than replace an existing membrane. Applied directly over the roofing surfaces to create a seamless\, UV-resistant\, fully bonded waterproof layer\, substantially extending the life of the roof. \nAbove the deck — Buzon Pedestals (Patrick Pusztai) \nPatrick will cover Buzon’s pedestal system with a focus on two products that open up real design possibilities for raised floors. \nThe E-BRS Alurail is a raised flooring support system that combines adjustable pedestals with aluminium rails to create a stable\, level subframe for outdoor paving or decking. It is commonly used on rooftops\, balconies\, and podium decks where drainage\, waterproofing protection\, and flexible paving layouts are required. \nThe U-Tray is Buzon’s modular tray accessory used with Buzon’s pedestals to support smaller-format tiles\, cut pavers\, stone inlays\, artificial turf or timber that cannot be laid or incapable of spanning standard pedestal layouts\, while maintaining drainage and access below the floor surface. In the event of accidental tile breakage\, the system is designed to support pedestrian loads\, helping to prevent injury and allowing damaged finishes to be safely and easily replaced. \nStay On \nDrinks\, light refreshments and networking to follow. \nPasco Construction Solutions\, Waterproofing & Sealants and exclusive Australian distributors for Buzon Pedestal International. \nRegistration \nThis event is free of charge but bookings are essential via Eventbrite. (Bookings are for individuals only. Multiple bookings are welcome provided that each booking contains the attendee’s full name and email address.) \nBookings via Eventbrite – https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/1988465059521?aff=oddtdtcreator

SUMMARY:AIW NSW Technical Event - May 2026
DESCRIPTION:If there is only one technical event you get to this year\, make it this one. It’s important. \nNational Construction Code Changes \nThe National Construction Code is undergoing an overhaul making it imperative for construction professionals to stay up-to-date with the changes. \nWe are fortunate to have speaker\, George Dahrie from Noviion Engineering\, to compare and contrast the outdated NCC 2022 with NCC 2025 for Class 2 building. His presentation includes – \n\nmajor regulatory shifts across facades\, structures and waterproofing\nthe move to reliability-based structural verification\nstricter fire resistance and sprinkler requirements\ncomprehensive waterproofing changes such as mandatory falls and set downs\, and\nnew energy provisions including thermal breaks\, solar PV\, and EV readiness.\n\nDiploma of Waterproofing Design and Survey \nThis seminar will also present an introduction to the Diploma of Waterproofing Design for those looking to upskill\, or legitimise their on-the-tools knowledge. Our presenter\, Darin Grace\, joins us from Master Builders NSW to cover the diploma’s value\, its content\, application process and how to show prior learning. \nRegistration \nThis event is free of charge but bookings are essential via Eventbrite. (Bookings are for individuals only. Multiple bookings are welcome provided that each booking contains the attendee’s full name and email address.) \nBookings via Eventbrite – https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/1978359927800?aff=oddtdtcreator \n

SUMMARY:Waterstops - Glazed Assemblies and Above Screed Know-How
DESCRIPTION:Content \nWaterstops\, in all their forms and positions\, serve a critical function in any waterproofing job. The problem is they are often regarded as the ‘icing on the cake’ rather than an essential ingredient to the integrity of the work. In this seminar\, we give waterstops the respect they deserve examining their various forms and functions. We will give special focus to the importance of glazed assemblies and correct installation of waterstops above screed. \nWe encourage participants to stay on for networking in the Baby Shoe Bar on the upper level. \nAbout the Speaker \nGreg Keet is the Director or Alliance FM. He started his career in Architectural and Building studies while working on-the-tools in Perth’s construction industry. Greg has over 20 years’ experience in the commercial furniture design and fitout installation sector. It was not long before Greg was recognised for his building knowledge and in 2007 he pivoted to building inspections and disputes with waterproofing failures being the predominant defects. Greg has enjoyed outstanding success in his strata assisted building disputes\, remediation\, and improvement programmes. In addition to work in building disputes\, Greg’s writes design specific waterproofing specifications\, consults and supervisors remediation work.

SUMMARY:AIW NSW Technical Event - With PENETRON
DESCRIPTION:Concrete Waterproofing – Structurally Integral Solutions \nThis month AIW NSW teams up with member company Penetron to cover the theory and practice of concrete waterproofing. Concrete waterproofing is critical component of construction impacting the overall durability to concrete structures. \nAs concrete is permeable\, it is subject to water ingress that can lead to adverse conditions such as mould and mildew growth\, corrosion of embedded steel reinforcement\, spalling and cracking. \nConcrete is an integral component of the built world so knowing how to protect its integrity is critical for anyone working in the construction space. \nDon’t miss your chance to develop a deeper appreciation of the importance of this important topic and gain additional know-how from Penetron’s team of experts. \nWhat’s Covered \nPenetron’s team lead by Pedram Mojarrad and Paul Amestroy will walk (and talk) you through a range of pioneering concrete waterproofing and durability solutions. \nThey’ll look at appropriate solutions for concrete structures such as basements\, rooftops\, water reservoirs\, driveways covering crystalline technology (admixtures and coatings)\, provide explanations through real life case studies and finish off with a live demonstration. \nLocation address \nWaterproofing Integrity: U49C/2 Slough Ave\, Silverwater NSW 2128 \nTimings \n4:00 – 6:00 PM (approx) \nPPE \nProtective gear is recommended especially steel capped boots and safety glasses.
